Editorial Policy

Accuracy and sourcing

Every important legal fact we publish must be traceable to an authoritative source, at the level of the individual fact — the filing fee knows its source, the waiting period knows its source. Claims we cannot source do not ship.

Risk-tiered review

Not all legal information carries equal risk. Simple factual data (a court address, a published fee) is verified against the source. Interpretive content (procedural explanations, eligibility summaries) receives editorial review. Consequence-sensitive content — deadlines, rights, exceptions — receives enhanced review and conservative wording. We do not publish legal advice or strategy recommendations at all.

Use of AI

We use AI tools to help gather sources, extract data and draft explanations. AI is never treated as the authority: facts come from the cited official sources, and content is anchored to the verified dataset described in our methodology.

Independence

Advertising does not influence what we cover or what the data says. Ads are visually distinct from content, and no advertiser sees or approves editorial content before publication. See our advertising disclosure.

Corrections

We correct errors promptly and transparently — the record, the page and its verification date are updated together. Report issues via corrections.
